Parish Priest of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Kaneshie, Rev. Father Francis Destiny Amenuvor has revealed that 60 years of existence of the Church has impacted the Kaneshie community and beyond with quality education and social Interventions.

According the Parish Priest, the support that has been extended to the community and the impact of the church on the community would remain a lasting a legacy to be benefitted by generations yet unborn.

Father Amenuvor made the statement during the climax of the Year-long 60th Anniversary celebration of the Church held on Sunday (October 5, 2025).

“Today we climax 60 years of our foundation, 60 years of existence and we’ve been celebrating on a theme “pilgrims of hope, 60years of discipleship.

Indeed to be a Church is to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and the presence of the Catholic Church in this vicinity is 60years”, Rev. Father Amenuvor stressed.

“We impacted this community through education, through social Interventions. The Church is impacting generations”, he added.

He attributed the gains and strides made by the Church in the community to resilience maintaining that supporting the needy, impacting generations and winning souls is the core objective of the Catholic Church.

“This Community is growing leaps and bounds. 60 years of Diamond Jubilee is a sign of resilience and we keep winning souls for Christ and leading them to heaven”, the Parish Priest emphasized.

He ceased the opportunity to advises all catholic faithful to eschew corruption and speak against illegal mining which he said is causing Havoc to our environment and water.

Father Amenuvor expressed his profound gratitude to the forebears of the Church and Parishioners for supporting the Church to live up to expectations, assuring that the Church would not depart from its human centered initiative.

For his part, the representative of the Archbishop of Accra, Auxiliary Bishop Anthony Narh Asare advised the Church to support and help smaller Catholic churches to grow.

He argued that when smaller churches grow, it helps in expanding and strengthening the Catholic Church and the faith in the community.

Bishop Asare, in his sermon called on Catholic Faithful to increase their faith and serve God religiously.

“We need to increase our faith by becoming beautiful servants of God”, the Auxiliary Bishop emphasized.
