“SML continues to receive over 1.4million us dollars every month under the downstream petroleum contract”, Mr. Awingobit revealed.

“We wish to appeal to President Mahama to terminate the remaining contract between GRA and SML immediately”, he added.

He said the 1.4 million dollars that the SML is receiving from the GRA under the downstream contract can support the Mahama Care initiative.

The IEA boss reminded President Mahama of his promise in opposition to cancel the contract immediately should he be elected President, calling on him to fulfill that promise.

He said even though President Mahama hinted of an ongoing investigations into the SML contract during the Commemoration of his 120 days in office, an immediate order for the termination of the contract would serve a great deal and build the confidence and trust of the people.

How can NPA be paying for the same services SML is rendering for the GRA.
It’s duplication of contract or payment”, Mr. Awingobit fumed.

He is therefore demanding that government recovers all monies paid for services deemed redundant or unverified.

He also called for the Ministry of Finance and NPA to blacklist SML from all government contracts.

“We are calling on Diplomatic communities and all CSOs to intervene. Do not allow this contract to become a betrayal of your government”, Mr. Awingobit stressed.
