The poignancy, sobbing and uncontrollable wails that characterized the final funeral rites of Christian Atsu Tswasam is one that sends shivers down the spine.

The funeral, held at the forecourt of the State House-Ghana on Friday was attended by his wife and three kids, his in laws, President Akufo Addo and several ministers as well as family members and sympathizers.

Spouse and children of late Christian Atsu

Former President John Dramani Mahama and his son who has interest in football also were in attendance, not forgetting myriad of Black star players who thronged the funeral grounds to give their colleague a final good bye.

Christian Atsu’s death was occasioned by a high magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey in February causing collapse of buildings, one of which he was trapped under and could not survive after several weeks of being under the rubble.

He will be buried in his home town in Ada in the Greater Accra region .
