NDC’s Lawyer Bernard Bediako Baodoo has been declared winner of the Akwatia by-election held on Tuesday September 2, 2025.
He polled 18,199 voted as opposed to NPP’s Solomon Asumadu who.polled 15,234 votes.
With this win, NDC adds one more seat the seats it currently has in Parkiament whilst NPP seats are shortened by one.
The Akwatia By-Election was conducted following the demise of the MP Ernest Yaw Kumi.
This defeat to the NPP, according to Experts show a growing fragility to the Party caused by leadership ineptitude.
