Aggrey Memorial Old Students Association(AMOSA) Global has refuted Police report doing rounds that six students of  Aggrey Memorial Secondary School attacked a student of Adisadel College.

The Police, it would be recalled, issued a statement saying on 20th February  2026 at about 6:30pm, the Adisadel student was coming out from the stadium to return to campus with his friends and the six suspects asked if he, the victim attends Adisadel and they attacked him right after and stole his iPhone 17 Pro max and amount of gg1,400.00.

The Police further stated that the six Aggrey students were arrested and detained upon complaint made to the Police.

But AMOSA , at a news conference in Accra on Tuesday, described the Police report as inaccurate insisting that none of the students mentioned in the Police statement as circulated was directly or indirectly involved in the assault and stealing from Master Rexford Owusu Ansah, a final year student of Adisadel College who was the victim.

Global Vice President of AMOSA, Mr. Francis Boakye explained further that the six students were part of a group of students who ran to the premises of Ghana National Fire Service  at Pedu “from dangers posed by Adisadel students wielding machetes, hockey sticks, broken bottles and all sorts of dangerous weapons”.

He added that the Fire Officers then assured them of safety and informed them of calling their Headmistress to arrange for their evacuation.

“Most of the students upon hearing that said they would find their ways to Aggrey Campus through the bushes and left leaving behind the 12 students who remained till the school bus and another Van arranged by the Officer came to pick them.

We have spoken to the fire officers for confirmation”, Mr. Boakye stressed.

AMOSA  can not fathom why the six students who were picked up by the school bus and taken to their dormitories were the ones who were rounded up later that evening by the Senior House master and taken to the Kotokuraba police station for interrogation and were later arrested and detained.

“They were kept in cells for over 8 hours though they were asked to write their statements to which they all wrote in denial of any assault  or theft case.

The police later released all six to the House  Master in the afternoon of Saturday the 21st of February, 2026”, Mr. Boakye emphasised.

AMOSA, against this background and latest development, is demanding that the Police review the statement and issue an updated one and circulate it same to receive that same traction in order to erase the misconceptions created by the statement.

“We request that  Ghana Police Service review the matter and provide further clarifications where necessary in the interest of fairness, justice and integrity of the noble service”, AMOSA Global Vice President reiterated.

Whilst calling on the school authorities to furnish the Police with all available information on any Aggrey student assaulted in order to ensure a holistic remedy to the matter, AMOSA emphasised that it remains committed to upholding the rule of law, protecting the welfare of students and supporting a fair and evidence-based resolution of the case.

Present at the Press Conference was former GJA President Mr. Roland Affail Monney, an AMOSA 1976, and other Executives of AMOSA.
