Chief of Salma Nana Kwamina Bentum II has appealed to President Mahama to restore the license of Adamus Resource limited maintaining that job losses ad a result of the revocation will be a threat to national security.
The Chief who spoke to the Exposè on Tuesday explained that Adamus Resources Chief Executive Angela List is being hounded because of her refusal to allow the indigenes to enter her concession.
The visibly angry Nana Salma explained further that no Chief on Nzema land is happy about the revocation and that any Chief who happy is oblivious of the ramifications of such a decision.
“The woman has done nothing wrong. She is a hard working woman who is helping us. She employs over 1000 people so why take such a decision against her”, Nana Bentum fumed.
He also denied Allegations that Adamus is involved in galamsey adding that “ she rather has been fighting illegal miners and has been using her own resources to cover the pits that the illegal miners leave”.
He stressed that the President is not receiving the true reflection of issues from the Minister adding that the Minister is abusing his power by involving himself in chieftaincy issues to the scornfulness of the people.
“He [Minister] went to bring a young man and made him a chief by force. He has not been gazetted so when the Chief invites the woman she declines it that is where they all ganged up against the woman”, he emphasised.
According to the Chief Adamus has released alluvial concession at Bokazzo adding that his community does not have that privilege but he will stand for the truth and stand by Adamus.
“President Mahama must listen to us and restore the license of Adamus. I know what I’m.talking about as the Chief of Salma”, Nana Bentum appealed.
