The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine has assured Members of Copy Ghana of government commitment to enforce the laws that protect their works.
This he said is the only surest way of ensuring that members of CopyRight ecosystem benefit from the intellectual properties.
Dr. Ayine’s speech was read on his behalf by a Staff of the Ministry at a Stakeholders’ engagement organized by CopyRight Ghana in Accra on Monday (June9, 2025)

“To our Curators, Authors, Visual Artists and Photographers, O say your work matters. The law is on your side.
Government reaming committed to Strengthening the structures that protect your works, online and offline”, Dr. Ayine emphasized.
According to him, enforcement of copyright law is not an afterthought but a constitutional instrument which he said must be carried through to the latter adding that collective licensing is so critical.
He assured that Ghana stands ready to play its part in shaping an Africa and global copyright agenda that is both fair and forward looking.

He however stressed that as Ghana navigates in an era of rapid technological advancement, we should not lose sight of our shared responsibility to respect creativity and reward originality.
He later re-iterated the Ministry’s commitment to Strengthening the legal framework for collective Licensing, enhancing compliance and enforcement mechanism, supporting public sensitization and championing copyright as a pillar of Ghana’s development.
“Let us work together, government, academia, Curators, Users, CSOs to ensure that the creative economy is not just protected but empowered to thrive”, the Attorney General appealed.
He later commended Copy Ghana for their dedication in awareness creation as well as the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for their continued support to CopyGhana.
The stakeholder Forum which recorded massive attendance gave room for panel discussions where Various Experts in the copyright space gave insights into the collective Licensing regime.
