Political analyst Dr. Lartey calls it “the politics of the apocalypse” – when candidates have no new promise to offer, they sell fear.
“Threatening brimstone and fire does three things,” he says. “It makes you look strong to your base, it scares the other side’s weak supporters into staying home, and it distracts everyone from asking what you will actually do in office.”
Alfred Ababio Kumi aka Adenta Kumi whilst filing his nominations said “we will meet the NDC shoulder to shoulder even if we have to go to he’ll and campaign and win. That is what we will do”.
Another NPP Youth Organizer hopeful Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei also said whilst filing his Nominations that he has been sent to save the NPP.
