“The students miss school not because they are not good but because they lack proper Sanitary Pads.
Menstruation should not be a barrier or reason to miss school”, the President emphasized.

He added “This is a movement that protects their future, a movement that celebrate their resilience
a Promise made and a promise kept”

He said school girls must always go through their menstruation with dignity and hygiene expressing his commitment to invest in school children so that they can go to school.

“To the teachers you will see a transformation of the Girls and they will report to school with confidence”, Mr. Mahama stressed.

The President later paid homage to his Vice President for leading the charge with the World Bank for the realization of the policy.

He also thanked the Development Partners for their support and called for the need to invest in the local production of the Sanitary Pads.
