Eng. Freeman Isaac Boateng, former Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Atiwa East Constituency, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Eastern Regional Organizer in the party’s 2026 regional elections.
In his official declaration of candidacy, Eng. Boateng said his decision to enter the race is driven by a deep sense of responsibility, unwavering commitment, and a passion for grassroots empowerment.

“My Time to Serve… Our Time to Win!” he declared, while outlining his vision to build a stronger and more effective organizational department within the NDC.
Eng. Boateng, who is an engineer by profession as well as a businessman and contractor, said his career has been guided by the principles of problem-solving, systems building, and delivering results. He noted that these same values have shaped his long-standing service to the NDC.
He has served the party in various capacities within the Atiwa East Constituency, including as Branch Youth Organizer from 1996 to 2000, Constituency Executive Member from 2014 to 2018, and Constituency Vice Chairman.
According to him, these roles have provided him with valuable leadership experience, organizational capacity, and a practical understanding of the needs and aspirations of grassroots members.
Eng. Boateng emphasized that his candidacy is centered on strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and improving its political fortunes in future elections.
He stated that building a strong grassroots base is essential for sustaining the NDC’s growth, enhancing member participation, and positioning the party for electoral success in the Eastern Region.
“If given the mandate, I am committed to building a stronger and more effective Organizational Department that prioritizes grassroots mobilization, party unity and discipline, membership growth and retention, capacity building for organizers at all levels, and strategic planning for electoral victory,” he said.
He further stressed that effective organization at the branch and constituency levels would provide the foundation for greater unity, discipline, and mobilization within the party.
“With a united and empowered grassroots base, the NDC can better engage its members, respond to the concerns of communities, and strengthen its electoral performance,” he stated.
Eng. Boateng explained that his aspiration is not merely about seeking a position but about answering a call to service. He said his goal is to empower organizers, reconnect with the grassroots, and build a formidable NDC that remains united, disciplined, and victorious in the Eastern Region.
He also outlined his core values, which include integrity, humility, discipline, transparency, fairness, respect, teamwork, grassroots empowerment, and courage in defending the party’s principles.
As part of his mission, Eng. Boateng pledged to build a vibrant, disciplined, and well-organized Eastern Regional NDC by strengthening grassroots structures, empowering organizers at every level, increasing membership, promoting unity, and ensuring fairness in internal party activities.
His vision, he said, is to establish the Eastern Regional Organizer’s Office as the engine of mobilization, discipline, membership growth, leadership development, and grassroots empowerment, thereby creating a united, active, and election-ready party capable of securing decisive victories for the NDC.
“Leadership is not about occupying a position; it is about creating opportunities, empowering people, and giving hope to those who believe in a better future,” he remarked.
Eng. Boateng therefore appealed to delegates, party members, and supporters for their support, prayers, and confidence as he seeks the mandate to serve as Eastern Regional Organizer.
His declaration adds to the growing interest in the NDC’s regional elections, where party members are expected to elect leaders capable of consolidating the party’s structures and preparing it for future electoral contests.
