A group calling itself Save the Republic has bemoaned the International seizures of drugs Linked to Ghana.
Addressing a news conference in Accra, he Convener of the Group, Kwesi Botchwey jnr Esq stressed that the recent France – $261 million cocaine seizure linked to Ghana, customs seizures of nearly 3.9 metric tons of cocaine worth €225 million / $261.45 million at the port of Dunkirk hidden in 167 packages inside a container of plastic waste shipped from Ghana among others make Ghana a safe state for drug trafficking.

The Convener expressed worry over the porous nature of our borders and urged government to crack whip within the security architecture to save Ghana from the global embarrassment.
“Ghana is becoming g a safe state for illicit drug business”, he said
The Group further called for the removal of the Interior Minister, Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed GPHA and Ghana Maritime Authority Director Generals major-General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono Kamal-Deen Ali respectively for their failure to nip the menace in the bud.
“We are here to demand accountability. The consequences of drug are dire”, Mr. Botchwey fumed..
