John Evans Attah Mills’ 14th Anniversary Commemoration has been launched with an anniversary Lecture Slated for Wednesday July 22, 2026 at the Ohene Konadu Auditorium UPSA.
Addressing the media in Accra on Wednesday, the Chairman of the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage Anniversary Committee, Mr. Alex Segbefia disclosed that the 14th Anniversary falls on Friday, 24th July 2026 adding that the activities begins today with the launch, followed by a commemorative Lecture.
He also revealed that the the Lecture will be delivered by Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng who is the renowned Cardio-thoracic surgeon and former Minister under the erstwhile NPP government on a theme “President John Evans Atta Mills, Fourteen Years On”.

“The Lecture will be chaired by United Nations Under-Secretary and Special Representative for the UN Support Mission in Libya (SRSG-UNSNIL) Ms. Hahaha Serwah Tetteh
“This is a Lecture that nobody should miss. It starts at 2pm. Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng of the NPP as the Keynote speaker is unique and refreshing and Ms Hannah Tetteh of the NDC as the chairperson for the Lecture is an outstanding personality. Together they form a formidable duo”, Mr. Segbefia added.
Mr. Segbefia who dabbles as Chief of Staff at the office of the Vice President emphasized that the 14th Anniversary Wreath-Laying Ceremony and Memorial Service will be held at the Asomdwe Park on Friday 24th July 2026 at 9:00 am stressing that President Mahama will lay the wreath on behalf of Ghana.
He said other wreaths will be laid for and on behalf of the Parliament of Ghana, then widow, Mrs Ernestina Naadu Mills, the family, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the J.E.A Mills Memorial Heritage and the Accra Regional House of Chiefs.

“On Saturday 25th July 2026, at 9:30 am, the President John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Hockey Tournament will be held at the at the TheodoraOkoh National Hocket Pitch Accra”, Mr. Segbefia emphasized.
The Press conference was graced by Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi among others.
The J.E.A Mills Memorial Heritage was established in his memory to preserve his heritage and legacy.
Incorporated on the 14th October 2021, it seeks to promote the President John Evans Atta Mills’ unique view of society to cause positive actions in strengthening democratic values and human development.
