Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has announced the Setting up of a Ministerial Committee to re-look into the revocation of the license of Adamus.

According to the Minister, the decision to set up the committee is born out of the spirit of fair play and interest of investment.

Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah and Chief Executive of Adamus Resources Angela List

Hon. Armah Buah made the revelations during an engagement with management of Adamus Resources limited following a petition at the Ministry on Thursday.

“It is important that as a Minister I look at the petition that has been brought and I can say it’s been a very constructive meeting.

“This is being done in the interest of the investment and people of Ghana”, the Minister stressed.

The Minister emphasized that the Committee which will be made of officials from Minerals Commission and Lands Ministry will have two weeks within to present their report.

Adamus , in their petition is requesting administrative review and reversal of the revocation of their license.

The request the Minister said will be looked into by the Committee where opportunity will be given to Adamus to respond to the findings pending the outcome of the report.

“We will directly engage Adamus and give them the opportunity to address the issues”, the Minister said.

The Minister also revealed that he has set up an interim management committee to manage the mines of Adamus in an orderly manner unti the committee concludes its work.

He emphasized that the Ministry will work without prejudice to the earlier findings by the Minerals Commission.

On her part, the Chief Executive of Adamus Resources Angela List thanked President Mahama, the Minister for Lands for the decision to relook inro the matter.

Whilst thanking the workers, the public and the media for their support, the Awarding winning mining Expert denied all the allegations leveled against the company.

She said the company has attached all evidence to the petition for the perusal of the Ministry adding that we are a responsible mining company and we dont engage in illegality.

“I first want to thank the president of the republic and the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.He is also our MP. It is our fervent hope that ours issues will be looked into

“As you know, we consider ourselves one of the responsible large-scale mining companies. We have presented here ample evidence of all the actions that we have taken over the years, trying to combat the menace of illegal mining. As the mining leaseholder, we have no reason to engage in illegal mining. I will never condone that,” she said.Madam List stressed.
