The leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) and long-time manager of legendary Highlife musician Daddy Lumba, Roman Fada, has passionately appealed to Ghanaians to cease linking the deaths of creative industry figures to the iconic artist.
His plea follows rumors and accusations by some Ghanaians that the Sika Asem hit maker could be responsible for the death of fellow Highlife musician Dada KD.
Concerns intensified recently with whispers suggesting Daddy Lumba’s alleged feud with Dada KD could be connected to the latter’s death. This follows a similar wave of speculation surrounding the unfortunate demise of Anokye Supremo, also known as the “Daddy Lumba lookalike,” whose death was also tragically attributed by some to Lumba.
Speaking out against what he describes as unfounded and hurtful allegations, Roman Fada urged the public to stop the continuous blame game. “It’s becoming too much,” he expressed with visible frustration. “Every time a creative person passes away, Daddy Lumba’s name is dragged into it.”
To highlight the absurdity of the claims, Fada jokingly added, “Honestly, at this rate, even if a Pope dies, Daddy Lumba will be blamed.” His comments underscore the depth of his concern regarding the persistent and, in his view, unfair scrutiny directed at the celebrated musician.
The manager emphasized that such baseless rumors tarnish Daddy Lumba’s reputation and cause immense distress to him and those close to him.
He implored Ghanaians to respect the departed and focus on their legacies rather than engaging in speculative and damaging accusations.
