Over five feared dead as mining pit collapses at Mpasatia .

A tragic incident has occurred at an illegal mining site at Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, where five persons are feared dead after a mining pit collapsed on them.

The victims according to reports were on their normal duty when the pit which has developed cracks caved in.

Some of the minera managed to escape but the victims were trapped in the cave

Reports say family members of the deceased are distraught whilst friends wail uncontrollably.

The victims who are yet to be identified because they dont come from the area have been deposited at the morgue.
