Operations of NAIMOS is beginning to yield positive results as once dark brown flowing water near Akyem Wenchi that flows into the Birim River has become clear.
It is believed that the strong presence of NAIMOS in the area coupled with several arrests and seisure of equipment of illegal miners is the resultant effect of the changes in the water.
Last week NAIMOs stormed the Eastern Region to clampdown on Illegal Miners, seizing a number of chngfans, Fuel drums, pumping machines among others.
Meanwhile the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources , which has declared activities of illegal miners as environmental terrorism , has vowed to chase them out and make progresses made, known to the public through the weekly press update.
