Fisheries Minister Commends ADB, CCT, Yamaha, Beacon Hill , Ranaan for Donating towards 41st Farmers Day Celebration.

Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development Hon. Emilia Arthur has commended ADB and a host of corporate institutions who donated items and a cash cheque to the Ministry to support the 41st Farmers Day celebration.

Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development Hon. Emilia Arthur

ADB donated cash cheque of ghc200,000 whilst Yamaha donated a motorbike, an outboard motor and a generator set. CCT, Ranaan and Beacon Hill respectively donated fishing nets, Fish feed and floating feed.

Receiving the items at a short ceremony at the Ministry on Friday (November 28, 2025), the Minister expressed profound gratitude to the donors describing the support as timely and that it will serve as an impetus towards the celebration of farmers particularly Fishermen and fish farmers.

“ We thank you and we are happy for these presentations and we promise to use them just for the purpose for which they were brought”, the Minister noted.

The Shama Member of Parliament further emphasized that, by these presentations, the partnership between the Ministry and the donor institutions would be more strengthened.

According to her, it is the commitment of government to support to support farmers to increase their yield whilst boosting aquaculture in the country.

She explained further that it is the reason the 2026 budget has received massive budget for aquaculture Development.

Hon. Arthur later commended all fishermen and women for their hard work and congratulated them in advance.

This years’ farmers Day Awards will be held in the Volta Region on Friday, December 5,2025.
