“There’s growing excitement across the globe over the upcoming Assemblies of God World Congress in Accra. The Congress, which takes place from October 14-16 will be the first on an African soil in the 115- year history of World Assemblies of God Fellowship.”

The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev Stephen Yenusom Wengam stated this at a meeting of the Local Organizing Committee ( LOC) at the Assemblies of God Headquarters in Accra. In attendance were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service , Ghana Immigration Service, National Security, Ghana Health Service and Ghana Ambulance Service.
Rev Wengam said the timing of the Assemblies of God World Congress is divine.
“Currently Assemblies of God is the largest Protestant church in the world , and its presence established in every part of the globe. The 10 thousand delegates from these countries and other numerous tourists who will throng the country will translate into a huge economic dividend.”Rev Wengam stated.
Furthermore, he said “the boost of Ghana’s image internationally cannot be underestimated,”
The General Superintendent appealed to all the state agencies, security services and volunteers to do everything possible to project the image of Ghana immeasurably.
He promised that institutions and individuals who excel in organizing the World Congress would be honored appropriately.
Rev. Wengam was hopeful that Assemblies of God Ghana would do its best , and God would do the rest.
The Chairman of the LOC, Rev Andrews Nelson Awintia said the Committee is leaving no stone unturned to roll out the historic event. “ At the end of it all, Ghana will be proud ,” Rev Awintia declared.
