One of the documents from the Tema West Assembly said” the 108 acre land you’ve acquired at Klagon is not within the Red Zone of the ramsar site.
The area is suitable for development.
Kindly contact the Assembly to proceed with the necessary documentation and permits”.

This letter from the Assembly which legitimized the development at the Ramsar site makes nonsense of claims that the respected Business man who doubles as the Dzaasetse is doing anything illegal.

Further documents from the Forestry Commission, under whose authority the site was developed show that Nii Botwe Laryea has not breached any law as far as th3 development of the site is concerned owing to the fact that his site does not fall within the red zone.

In the letter of the Forestry Commission which is in possession of this paper, authorized the Nungua Dzaasetse to develop the area having done its due diligence and realizing that the site is not in the Red Zone.

Portion of the letter read in part “in a bid to deal with encroachment and restore the integrity of the site the Forestry Commission Board has had engagement with the PDB with a view to develop a technical financial proposal to protect and conserve the core area of the site and apply the wise use of concepts to ensure a sustainable development of the buffer zone. The Forestry Commission will evaluate your application upon receipt and adoption of the proposal by the PDB.

This Technical and Financial proposal according to our cursory check was adopted, paving the way for developments outside of the buffer zone.

The Dzaasetse who expressed worry over his hard earned name being dragged in the mud told this paper in an interview that over thousand(1,000) thousand people have sold land in the Sakumo ramsar site maintaining that he has permits to cover all the area he gave out for development as was captured in the aforementioned letters from the Forestry Commission and Tema West Municipal Assembly.

“As a business man and a Dzaasetse I am sufficiently knowledgeable that developing within the buffer zone can be detrimental to my community as it can cause severe flooding so why would I develop in the red zone when I have permit to develop outside the red zone.

My brother those haters who envy me are those developing in the buffer zone and not me”, the Dzaasetse fumed.

He warned those who are deliberately tarnishing his image for no cause.to stop else “when I begin mentioning names of those developing those site, the entire Nungua Youth would chase them out.
Showing site plan engineered by one Prof. Hammond of the Ramsite to this Editor, Nii Botwe Laryea stressed that his businesses Kpookeke, a livestock farm are what generates money for him and not sale of Lands.

He maintained that the jobs he is creating for the Nungua Youth and the youth of the country is something that should be applauded and commended rather being tagged as selling ramsar site lands.

He therefore calling on all well-meaning Ghanaians to disregard any attempt to malign him by faceless people close to him just because he is not allowing the wanton sale of the ramsar site lands by those people, insisting that all those allegations are unfounded and without merit.

Meanwhile Dzaasetse is appealing to the Greater Regional Minister and the TDC to halt demolitions at his sites since they do not fall within the red zone , threatening to sue them shouldnit continue.
