Adamus Resources Limited, has debunked media publications in which some residents within its catchment area allege that the mining company is leasing alluvial mining to Foreigners and denying them access to its concession.

A statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the Corporate Affairs Directorate of Adamus Resources limited maintained that Adamus Resources remains one of the indigenous mining companies who works with, and prioritizes the interest of the local people in its operational catchment areas.

It described the allegations as malicious and mischievous intended to cause disaffection for the company which is doing so well within its operational catchment areas.

The company explained further that they are at peace with Salma, Akamko, Bamiako, and surrounding communities and have put together several social initiatives including livelihood empowerment to support the socio-economic well-being of the people adding that Adamus is a law abiding mining company, therefore it can not renege on its responsibilities and deny residents economic opportunities.

The company emphasized that it acknowledges the economic challenges of the residents within its catchment area, however it is committed to alleviating the suffering of the people through social interventions to boost their nomination well-being.

The company later expressed worry over continuous unwarranted media attacks despite working within the confines of the law and placing premium on local interest as far as it’s operations are concerned.

Adamus Resources is therefore appealing to the youth and good people of its catchment areas as well as the media to always contact the company should they require any clarification as regard job opportunities and the company’s operations adding that its doors are open for talks, aimed at strengthening social cohesion, job opportunities and developments.

Adamus Resources is a subsidiary of Nguvu Mining Limited, which holds 90% economic interest.

Producing gold since 2011, the company is highly active in the Ellembelle District, employing over 1,200 people with a strong focus on local employment and community development.
