Stop All Forms of Corruption and Abuse of Power-President Mahama Swears In New IGP COP Tetteh Yohuno

President Mahama has sworn the new IGP COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno to take over from Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.

At a short swearing ceremony held at the Flagstaff House on Friday, President Mahama described the new IGP as a distinguished Police Officer who would ensure security of the people and the state.

He admonished him to stop all forms of corruption and abuse of power in the police service.

President Mahama stressed that we face increasing incidents of threats cyber fraud, terrorism and transnational criminal network adding that this calls for strong intelligence gathering.

“Your leadership must bee rooted by integrity leadership and dedication”, President Mahama said.

He also urged the new IGP to ensure that officers are well trained, equipped and motivated, calling for the concept of community policing to be strengthened.

President Mahama later congratulated the new IGP and wished him well in his new role.

On his part the new IGP, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno assured the President that professionalism accountability and fairness would be his priority.

He said leadership style would one that reflects the interest of police officers and Ghanaians as a whole.

He advised all police officers to be diligent assuring of total safety and security in Ghana.
