President of Online Publishers Association of Ghana (OPAG) Mr. Michael Petit Mawugbe (Efo Mawugbe) has appealed to President Mahama to order a forensic audit in what has become the biggest and scandalous NLA-KGL deal in the history of the country.
According to the OPAG President it beggars believe why such a scandalous deal would continue to fester inspired of public outcry for the deal to be abrogated.

President of Online Publishers Association of Ghana (OPAG) Mr. Michael Petit Mawugbe (Efo Mawugbe)
“Mr. President I know you are a listening President. The way you listened to Ghanaians and ordered the SML deal to be canceled, the same way you must order for the cancelation of this NLA-KGL deal”, Efo Mawugbe fumed.
“This deal is perhaps one of the deals that would go into history as the most fraudulent due to the colossal amount the state loses to this deal”, he added.
This NLA-KGL deal has attracted widespread condemnation from the public who believe that the company is shortchanging the state hence milking the only cash cow left for the state.
In a critical case of ‘From Lottery to Lootery’ the National Lottery Authority (NLA) was established to bring dignity to chance, to make the lottery a tool of national purpose, not private greed. Yet in 2024 alone, KGL Technology Limited reportedly generated more than GH¢3 billion in revenue from selling the NLA’s 5/90 game online. The NLA, the lawful entity, made less than GH¢350 million. That leaves a GH¢2.65 billion gap of whooping money earned in the name of the state that never reached the state.
It does appear as though the NLA is shifting from its founding purpose, surrendering control of its most profitable operations to private hands.
The Fourth Estate’s new investigation confirms that this shift was no accident but rather a deliberate handover of the nation’s lottery business to one company, KGL Technology Limited, under terms that make the state look like a spectator in its own enterprise or better still “robbing Peter to Pay Paul where driver became master to the car owner”.
More soon.
