Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has called for a new generation of leadership rooted in integrity, vision, and a deep commitment to public service.
Speaking at the 13th J.E.A. Mills Commemorative Lecture on July 22 in Accra, Mr. Debrah paid glowing tribute to the late former President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, describing him as “a symbol of calm strength, ethical leadership, and patriotic humility.”
He emphasised the importance of grooming the youth for future leadership roles grounded in values and service.
“We must ignite a national consciousness among our youth to step forward not just to inherit power, but to earn the trust of the people by walking in the path of vision, honesty, and humanity,” he said. “To the youth, leadership is not a loud ambition; it is a quiet preparation. Be ready to serve with integrity not just to lead with titles.”
Reflecting on Ghana’s democratic journey, Mr. Debrah acknowledged the contributions of transformative leaders like Prof. Mills, who he said advanced national progress through peace and truth.
“This is a man whose life story should be etched in the hearts of the next generation of leaders,” he noted.
He encouraged young Ghanaians to rise above partisanship and embrace a model of leadership that prioritises the needs of future generations
