There is a fresh twist to the ongoing saga at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (GARH), where some corrupt officials are scheming to remove the Medical Director, Rev. Dr. Ralph Armah, due to his anti-corruption campaign at the hospital.

www.senaradioonline.com has stumbled upon an unusual occurrence where a private entity’s (Axis Pharmacy) specialized request form raised a prescription for a surgical procedure at Ridge Hospital (a public facility), contrary to the established procedure.

In this case, the receipt issued to the patient was $7,000, raising questions about the currency of the transaction, transparency, conflict of interest, tax components on the receipt, among others.

In this case, the receipt issued to the patient was $7,000, which raises questions about a potential conflict of interest.

A source at Ridge Hospital stated that Axis Pharmacy appears to be the preferred pharmacy of some top officials at Ridge Hospital, as it provides an easy avenue for them to exploit vulnerable patients. Who owns Axis Pharmacy, and what is the connection with the Greater Accra Hospital? More details in our subsequent publication.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) is reviving a stalled investigation into alleged theft and patient extortion at Ridge Hospital, involving hospital staff and Staraid Care Limited, which reportedly spanned from January to December 2023.

Initiated on July 24, 2024, under the former Deputy Executive Director/Operations, Abdulsi Bashire Daphiah, the investigation was abruptly halted without explanation.

However, EOCO’s current leadership has decided to resume the probe.
This renewed focus follows recent allegations of a coordinated effort to undermine Ridge Hospital’s Medical Director, Rev. Dr. Ralph Armah, who has publicly committed to fighting corruption. The increased media scrutiny surrounding these allegations has prompted EOCO to revisit the earlier investigation, indicating a potential broader examination of suspected wrongdoing within the hospital.
