  1. On Wednesday 17 September 2025, the NAIMOS Task Force in collaboration with the Western Regional Security Council, Western Naval Command and the Nzema East Blue Water Guards conducted simultaneous anti-Galamsey operation along and directly on the Ankobra River. The operation was carried out between Dwira Ashem through Dominase to Akango at the Nzema East Municipality of the Western Region.
  2. During the operations, the NAIMOS Task Force and the Blue Water Guards patrolled and raided structures erected along the banks of the River whiles the Western Regional Security operatives with the Western Naval Command personnel cleared illegal mining activities directed on the Ankobra River. The NAIMOS Task Force has been intermittently sponsoring and leading these joint raids with the said troops over the past three (3) weeks to remove all forms of galamsey activities on or along the River and its banks.
  3. The well coordinated operation was simultaneously conducted and resulted in the seizure of some illegal mining wares and equipment as well as demolishing of several makeshift structures. Details of the operations are as follows:

20 * Makeshift Structures burnt.
10 *Dredging platforms destroyed.
20 * Chanfangs destroyed.
4 * MotorBikes Seized.
15 * Pumping Machines Seized.
2 * Solar Panel Seized.
1 * Standing Fan Seized.
1 * Tv set Seized.
3 * Gas Cylinders Seized.
