Nicholas, a passionate young Skating Instructor from Wheel Strive is making waves in Ghana’s skateboarding scene by training kids and young adults in this exciting sport.
With years of experience, Nicholas provides top-notch instruction, helping his students develop their skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Nicholas Torkornu speaks to Efo Mawugbe
Nicholas, an expert Skater, tells our Editor how he trains the kids most of whom come from deprived homes within the area.
He however indicated that there are rich parents who bring their kids to be trained.
He said building the confidence of the kids is his number one priority.
“Whenever somebody is skating and he falls down, he gets up so your confidence and skills helps you to know more, Nicholas emphasized.
He also stressed that the skating training helps to bring the kids together in the community adding that “some people come with challenges but here can be the home for that person to come and take have fun, forget about their troubles for that period”.
He later mentioned the benefits of skating which he said includes traveling abroad for skating competition and being hired for promo or advertisement purposes.
“My main aim is some of the kids will get the chance to fly over to go and compete”, Nicholas revealed.
Nicholas however underscored the need for financial support to enable him buy protective gears for the practicing kids so they don’t get hurt.
He is therefore calling benevolent people to come support them in their quest to lift the flag of Ghana high.
