GJA Presidential Hopeful Charles Mawusi has appealed to all Journalists in good standing to vote for a leader with credibility, accountability and transparency.
The Experienced Journalists and Development Communications Expert explained that the aforementioned qualities were as sacrosanct as the prestigious Association stressing that anybody who lacks those qualities have no business leading the Association.

People’s favourite Mr. Charles Yao Mawusi
Mr. Mawusi made the statement on GBC whilst on a campaign tour in Accra.
“If we dont have a Credible Person leading the GJA, we are not going to attract the needed funding that will secure the needed training in our professional development” the GJA Presidential Candidate emphasized.
“…So basically if you are looking for somebody to lead GJA, credibility, accountability and transparency is key”, he added.
Mr. Mawusi’s comments on integrity, credibility and transparency has been necessitated by widespread allegations of abuse of office, misappropriation and unaccountability of GJA funds by Dwumfour’s administration leading to the Association’s inability to redeem its statutory obligations (GRA and SSNIT) which are in huge arrears inspite of the colossal monies that have passed through the Association.
But Charles Mawusi, a squeaky clean and the most credible Candidate in the race has vowed to use all GJA resources for the interest of Journalists and avail himself for scrutiny and accountability through Annual General Meeting (AGM), which for 3 years has eluded the Dwumfour administration.
“If you are a Journalist and you are thinking about your welfare and the future of Journalist then you need to vote for Charles Mawusi”, he asserted.
“I am coming with innovations and Ideas that would make GJA raise funds, train Journalists and develop our profession”, he added.
Mr. Mawusi questioned the notion that strong leadership is one that holds Press Conferences to condemn attacks on Journalists maintaining that “it is high time we stopped looking at things from a strong man point of view”.
“We need to be strategic in a manner that we develop our skills, in a manner that we secure our welfare.
I am for welfare and I will develop a welfare policy that will take care of all Journalists”, the GJA President Hopeful assured.
He is therefore calling on all Journalists to turn up massively on Monday June 30, and vote massively for him.
“You need a strong leader to work out issues of welfare for Journalists. The welfare issues are leadership issues. We need radical thinking, you need Innovation, you need ideas of business, how do we turn GJA around to be productive, how do we use the numerous Journalists we have around the country so they work for their welfare and Charles Mawusi is the right candidate for this”, Charles Mawusi maintained.
