Former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, has been detained following hours of interrogation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) over an ongoing investigation into a revenue assurance audit contract.
His legal team has declined to comment, and his current whereabouts remain unclear.
Mr. Adom-Otchere was invited by the OSP as part of a broader probe into alleged corruption and corruption-related offences arising from a contract between GACL and a private firm.
In an official letter dated July 25, 2025, the OSP named him as a suspect in the matter.
Confirming the summons in an interview with Citi Newsroom, Mr. Adom-Otchere said he was scheduled to meet investigators on Thursday, July 31.
However, he described the OSP’s invitation as a “witch-hunt,” insisting that he had no direct role in executing the contract in question.
“The contract in question was signed by the Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company, and I was not even aware that the contract had been executed,” he said
Mr. Adom-Otchere further questioned why the investigation appeared to be focused on him, despite the availability of management officials who were directly involved in the operational decision.
