NDC National Organizer and 3rd Vice Chairman, Joseph Yamin and Abanga Yakubu respectively have denied tacitly allegations that they are neck deep in galamsey activities.
The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine on Thursday directed the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to launch a full-scale investigation into alleged illegal mining activities involving Joseph Yamin, the ruling NDC’s National Organiser, and Yakubu Abanga, National Vice Chairman.
In a letter dated Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the Attorney-General instructed EOCO to invite the two individuals named in recent reports for interrogation over their suspected involvement in unauthorised mining operations, commonly referred to as galamsey.
But the duo, in a separate media interviews with the Exposè, have denied tacitly the allegations being leveled against them.
“I have never being engaged in any mining activity at any point. This allegation is baseless, they are malicious and calculated attempt to tarnish my hard earned reputation”, Mr. Abanga fumed.
Meanwhile the duo have vowed to honour any invitation extended to them even though as at going to press, they had not received yet any official invitation from the Investigation bodies.
