Tension is looming at Ayawaso West Wuogon Consitiency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the Party defied a court injunction and went ahead to conduct the elections which was fraught with wide-spread irregularities.
Prior to the elections , the former Constituency Secretary Issa Sawadogo who has been elected as Chairman through mafioso tactics was accused of flooding the album register with delegates aligned to him whilst delegates aligned to his opponents were expunged from the album.
This led to Gideon Opoku, one of affected delegates proceeding to court to place injunction on the elections.
However in an utter shock and show of bravado with disregard for the Courts, the Constituency under the influence of Issah Sawadogo proceeded with the elections to elect new executives
Meanwhile the affected Candidates who were the Delegates” favorites have vowed to Challenge the election in Court and cite them for contempt.
This situation has aggravated the already existing cracks within the NPP in Ayawaso West Wuogon prompting Political Analysts to wage into the matter, calling on the national leadership to intervene and reverse the illegality- an action they maintain is the only surest way the NPP can re-annex the seat.
