President Akufo Addo has sworn in the new Chief Justice, Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo.
The colorful ceremony which took place at the Jubilee house on Monday gave credence to her appointment as new Chief Justice.
The President administered three oaths this the oath of allegiance, judicial oath and oath of secrecy after which Justice Torkornoo was presented with the Instrument of Appointment.
The new Chief Justice also signed the Oath Book.
The ceremony was attended high personalities including former President Kuffour, Prof Frimpong Boateng, Ministers of State and Minority Leader Dr. Casiel Ato Forson.
The President in a speech commended the outcome Chief Justice for contributing to infrastructural development of the Judiciary and assured the new Chief Justice of Support from the three arms of government.
“I want to assure the new Chief Justice as I did to her predecessor I will be a dependable and trust worthy partnernofnthe judiciary”, President Akufo Addo assured
