Kintampo Municipal Hospital Launches 2023 Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

The Kintampo Munical Hospital on Thursday, 19th January, launched the 2023 Cervical Cancer Awareness Month with a Free screening for staff and community members.

The launch was aimed at discussing Cervical Cancer related statistics and to highlight some treatment options available in the municipality. The theme for this year’s awareness month is “Captivating today’s women as an instrument in combating cervical cancer.”

Cervical Cancer Awareness Month is marked every year in January to encourage women to be more attentive to their feminine health. Current estimates indicate that every year in Ghana, 2,797 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and 1,699 die from the disease.
